Volunteer Spotlight – Chris Dorman

Chris Dorman, a Kansas native and current resident of Paris, TX, is a retiree with a servant’s heart. He volunteers for CASA, Downtown Food Pantry, Celebrate Recovery, and Christian Fellowship Church. Chris was touched by a CASA presentation he saw six years ago and decided to become a part of the solution by supporting kids through those hard times. He’s been a volunteer advocate for two years. His favorite part is “loving the kids in their foster home setting and standing up for them in court.” His advice to anyone considering becoming a CASA is to “Follow your heart.”

Chris enjoys spending time with his family and grandchildren, working in his yard, woodworking, car maintenance, attending Bible studies and church activities, hunting and fishing. Fun Fact: Chris has an “Appeal to Heaven” flag on the front of his shop. It is the first flag authorized by General George Washington prior to the Revolutionary War.

Chris is a tremendous asset to CASA for KIDS and the children in the child welfare system, and we thank him for his time and dedication to the cause!
